A Woman who spends three minutes shaving her legs every day eats up more than 18 hours a year. That doesn't count the time she spends plucking eyebrows and stray hairs.

Cathy Daunt, like most women, hated shaving. Therefore, she made an appointment to have her bikini line lasered away.

Now, this nurse of 28 years and experienced businesswoman had started a new enterprise helping others permanently remove unwanted hair from their bodies.

"Because I had it done myself, I realized what a joy it was not to have to shave or pluck or wax," Daunt says. "That is what led me on this path."

"Just imagine the time and money you spend shaving, not to mention the things you buy for sale on T. V. that don't work."

She opened Permanent Choice Clinic, Inc., in DeLand in 2005 to help women - and men - get rid of hair on their legs, back, bikini areas, eyebrows, and just about any area you can think of. But first, Daunt became nationally board certified, passing a national exam that allows her to use the credentials CCE, and CME behind her longstanding RN title.

Her nursing experience and business know-how set Daunt apart in her new profession. Many customers seek her out because of her nursing background. She's knowledgeable about the anatomy, physiology, and sterile techniques - all assets for performing hair removal.

That background also comes in handy in permanent cosmetics, another offering at Permanent Choice Clinic. Daunt received training at the Micropigmentation Institute of California so that she can also offer cosmetic brow enhancement, eyeliner and lips at her centrally located clinic. One application takes one to two hours to complete, and just about anyone can benefit from permanent cosmetics, she says.

"You wake up and look good," Daunt says. "It's perfect for people who don't want to invest the time in putting makeup on. You don't have to worry about sweating your makeup off or swimming in a pool." Permanent cosmetics are also ideal for people who can't see well enough to apply makeup daily.
